New York City will now limit e-bike and scooter riders to 15 miles per hour on city streets as part of a broader push by Mayor Eric Adams to rein in the fast-growing and controversial delivery sector.

A new law in Elk Grove Village (Chicago suburb) now requires e-bike and scooter riders to be at least 16 and have a valid license if they want to ride on the road. Fines start at $50, and there are other rules too — like no riding on roads over 35 mph.
