有很多人说绿卡也是一种签证，他们有些人还举出了理由，说批准绿卡需要 visa number 所以绿卡是一种签证。
那么，我就有问题了。Lawful Permanent Resident 是一个 status ，Green Card 是一张塑料卡片。
把卡片没收了，剪了，并不取消 LPR status 。唯三取消 LPR status 的方法是
I-407, Record of Abandonment of Lawful Permanent Resident Status 或者
§1256. Rescission of adjustment of status 或者
§1229a. Removal proceedings
那签证在哪里？
签证和身份是两件事这个基础知识都没搞懂吗？你说F1境内AOS变成H1B他们的签证在哪？
绿卡就叫Immigration Visa
F1 AOS 之后变成的是 LPR ，不是 H1B 。
你只 COS 没有境外使馆贴签，对不起，你仍然不是 H1B visa holder 。
绿卡是美国移民局发的。
immigrant visa 是美国国务院发的。
我的理解，每个在美国的人都对应一身份：
1.公民
2.绿卡持有者
3.F1/F4,H1B,O2…
4.走线者
以上只有3在进入且仅在进入美国是要出示签证的
进入后签证就没用了，要看你身份的时候要出示护照，绿卡，i-20。。。出示不了就是非法移民

按照 INA 的说法，只有在美国国外的 consular officer 才可以颁发移民签证。
