Looks like the hotel can set up their own rules.. The Hyatt support agent can’t apply it for me

Upon checking with the hotel, they have confirmed that while Club Access Awards may generally be applied to eligible paid rates, Free Night Awards, and Points plus Cash bookings, this specific property has a policy that limits the use of Club Access Awards to eligible paid rate bookings only.
