安装版会看到这个页面，就是今年新加的account login on install，为了discourage sharing
登录的时候会用账号的手机号来做短信2FA
然后可以看到这个页面, 写着可以激活5次
点activate turbotax 就会完成安装
安装完之后看到的信息是你自己电脑上的，应该看不到别人电脑上的信息

没找到选州的地方，不过我这州税本来也打算用州里的free filing。
我之前的攻略v2 好像是说要选好州，然后免费checkout 之后才能锁定，不然可能会被clawback
我试试看今年是不是一样的操作。
我是付了5刀下载版所以心态稳定。

等下这个下载版为啥激活的时候显示 0/5 Active？？？

2023 年新版turbotax 锁定免费网页版攻略（这样能避免被clawback,上一年就有一大批人高高兴兴的claim了然后没锁定，后来被clawback悲剧了）
First, follow the instructions in these two posts. note that if your initial discount is 30% instead of 20%, just use incognito mode and don’t bother with the step to log into fidelity.

How did you do your taxes last year?
If you have a Turbotax account already, pick “I used Turbotax”
If you do not have an account, pick “I used another software” -
Login or create an account depending on the above

You should see “Welcome, we’re glad you’re here!”, click “Let’s Go”

“We’ll start by getting to know you”, put in your info

“Tell us about your year” pick your answer

“Did you have any of these things in 2023?” pick anything relevant, to make sure you see the same steps I do, please pick at least “stock or investment sales”

“Tell us more about your stock sales” pick whatever

“We’re here to guide you through reporting your investments”, click continue

“You’re off to a great start”, click “Great, keep going”

“We just need your OK on a couple of things”, click “skip for now”

You will be taken to the home screen, if it activated race mode just exit out of the popup. It should say says “We need a few more detials about you”, click “File” on the left

“We need a little more info”, click “complete my return”, fill out “Your personal info” with your actual info. Next page is “For important tax credits, enter your SSN or ITIN”, again, real info. “Let’s confirm your marital status”, go through all the pages until you see “Personal info summary”, click “continue”, then “Get year-round protection with MAX benefits”, click “don’t add max”

You will see “Let’s talk about your income next”, do not continue, go to the left sidebar and click “State Taxes” on the left, then “Your state Returns”

You will see all the states you added, you need to click on the “Start” next to each state, proceed as far as you can, then click “State Review”, they should say “Reviewed” or “Started”

Click on File on the left, you will see “Well done, xxx” , click Continue(, )if it says “We need more information for your order”, just click “Go to My Info” and add that info, go back to the File section on the left.) Otherwise you will see “Just a few steps left and we’ll file your returns”, click start, should show turbotax premium federal and x state return both being $0. click confirm payment. “ORDER DETAILS” page, click continue. Once you see “Step 1. We’ve prepared your Federal and New York taxes for free View Receipt”, you have successfully locked in the free returns, now you can take your sweet time in filling out your tax return. Check your email for the below confirmation email for confirmation.

不过最保险的还是花个5刀买个下载版的key啦
Some DPs show that the same TurboTax account cannot do $0 web if they did $5 download already, so do web first then download if you want both
