“Our text alerts program is changing”
Dear Cardmember,
Your peace of mind when it comes to your account’s security is important to us. We wanted to make you aware of an important change to how you receive optional account alerts for your American Express® Card listed above.
To provide confidence that the account alerts are sent from American Express, the following alerts that you may currently receive will no longer be sent via text after September 27, 2023. This change will not affect alerts that you may receive via email or push notification from the American Express® App:
- Payment Received
- Payment Reminders*
- Statement Ready*
- Account Snapshot
- Business Credit Received*
- Spending Alert*
- Transaction Alert- Card not Present
- Transaction Alert- Large Purchase
- Transaction Alert- Foreign transaction
- Transaction Alert- Cash Withdrawal
- Approaching Card Limit*
Because you may receive at least one of these optional account alerts by text, we recommend that you select the following delivery options to continue to receive these messages:
Push notifications: Some push notifications are currently unavailable through the Amex App, but the above alerts will be available after September 27, 2023. This is a convenient alternative to text alerts and is backed by the safety and security of American Express. You can download the app here.
Emails: To explore and manage alert email preferences, log in to your account.
You may still receive other alerts by text
Important alerts that you may currently receive by text, such as fraud protection alerts to verify any suspicious activity, or one-time password (OTP) notifications to confirm your identity, will not be affected.

昨天我也收到这个邮件了，下一步该学以前国内银行的什么“每月6元订阅工银信使短信提醒服务” 
SMS这开销其实很多（特别是非美欧的国家） 基本上是指数型增长 而且很多国家运营商垄断 对决定价格有绝对话语权 商家不能说换就换
在某科技大厂 之前某个国家的sms运营商费用突然翻了10倍 搞得我们org做了一个季度的项目去减cost
隐约感觉ASPIRE的幸福时光快结束了

SMS是贵 之前google voice forward sms 后来也取消了 但是银行砍SMS 也许会导致在盗刷这块损失变大 （因为部分用户回更慢反应过来）
啊？……amex不能是
了吧 怎么都从这些地方开始抠钱了

取消大概就是想test in prod 看看真正的损失有多少了 肯定是内部ds做了很多分析才决定这样roll out的
