- Cancelled flight
- Delay or schedule change of at least 3 hours for a domestic itinerary or 6 hours for an international itinerary
- The term “delay” includes schedule changes and irregular operations (IRROPS).
- For the purpose of the DOT refund rule, domestic includes 50 U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and N. Mariana Islands.
- The 3 and 6 hour rule applies to tickets issued on/after Oct. 24, 2024. The Agency Rebooking Parameters applicable schedule change and irregular operations sections will be updated shortly.
- Increased number of stops (e.g., non-stop to connection, additional connections)
- Change in origin or destination airport
- Any downgrade in cabin, or from Economy Plus to Economy
- Change in flight number
- For customers with disabilities and their travel companions:
- Change in aircraft type resulting in a change in accessibility features available, including but not limited to an aircraft cargo door that does not accommodate a customer’s wheelchair
- Any change in connecting airport
